Hi Thireus, I just instaled Gma_Overclockin on my macbook 13" white (first 2006 model), with gma950 , runnig tiger 10.4.11.
Do you belive there is any danger using it? Like reducing the chipset lifetime, or over heating?
I noticed a slight better performance when working with many windows, firefox and finder and the same time. If there is no problem I intent to continue using it.

It's safe because the hack just increase the frequency of your GPU and not the voltage.

I have tried the instructions (including installing CHUD) and get the following system.log message:

This definitely works on a 2006 MacMini (C2D 2GHz) under Snow Leopard.
My "benchmark" is EyeTV. Since I installed GMA OverClocking the Mini is capable of playing 1080i broadcasts in EyeTV with interlacing setting "always". Before GMA OC the playback was choppy and unwatchable, now it runs smooth. Additionally CPU usage for SD and 720p streams went down. Since I didn't change anything else of my setup this has to be related to GMA OC.

Hello i use 10.6.1 on a Macbook late2007/gma950 and it don´t run =(.

On Startup a Messagebox appear with "Insecure Startup Item disabled ... overclock:gpu has not been started because it does not have proper security settings"

So i tried to start the scripts in Terminal as root.
But in console - system.log: "Something is wrong with GMA OverClocking, please contact Thireus"

You have to repair disk permissions in order to ake it work.

After repair disk permissions with diskutility, its still don´t work.

Here is the solution:

sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/StartupItems/overclock_GPU

I had the same issue under Snow

Still no luck..

After this way without success:

"Run GMA OverClocking package installer

Open a Terminal window and type:

sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/StartupItems/overclock_GPU

Enter your password etc.

Reboot"

Now it runs! After i installed Apples CHUD 4.6.2 it runs!

Is there a possibility to check the 400mhz in terminal?

Because it seems not much faster to my mind.

Well, doesn't want to start on my little Lenovo S10e. In the console it shows a "What? Stop command send... GMA Overclocking" after "Starting GMA Overclocking" and then "Starting..." again, but no success-message... Any ideas?

Have a look at your system.log file into the Console it might be written there :p

I was wondering if your EEEPC has the same maximum GMA frequency as my Lenovo S10 netbook.

No overheat possible, because the voltage is still the same.
My eeepc 1000H runs at this frequency all the time
